10 May : Benxi Steel completes pipeline steel export order for Australia

It is reported that Chinese steelmaker Benxi Iron and Steel lately delivered a final batch of 4,600 tonnes of X46 line pipes to Australia, thus successfully completing its contracted order for 13,000 tonnes of the products in question.

At the beginning of 2009, the Australian government announced plans to build a sea water desalination project. Benxi Iron and Steel International Trade Company participated in the resulting bidding process, beating other international steelmakers including Australian giant Bluscope and winning the tender.

Benxi Iron and Steel International Trade Company was chose as exclusive steel provider for the project.
