11 May : BaoSteel bags National Excellent 6 Sigma Program award

Recently, 2009 China Quality Technology Award has been disclosed, and Baosteel all 4 programs are awarded as National Excellent 6 Sigma Program.

4 programs selected by Baosteel are Integrated Qualification Rate Enhancement of BF Hot-metal Pretreatment, Efficiency Enhancement of Unloading Dock Double Berth and Multi system in Majishan Harbor, Reduction of Cold Rolling Product Alloy Content and Accuracy Enhancement of Heavy Plate Hot Strengthening Setting.

Moreover, additional 3 programs from Baosteel are awarded as Shanghai Excellent 6 Sigma which is evaluated by Shanghai Quality Association, namely Reduction of Stainless Steel Low Speed Slab Rate and Enhancement of No 2 Kiln Lime Activity from Stainless Steel Business Unit as well as Enhancement of Home Gauge Life Span from Tubular Business Unit.

Established in 2005 and as the highest award of China in the field of quality technology, China Quality Award is to praise units and individuals who understand in quality technology. Since 2007, National Excellent 6 Sigma Program has been brought into China Quality Technology Association Quality Technology Award. There are 332 Six Sigma in the assessment this time.
