China Knowledge quoted US based auto giant General Motors Corp said its China sales in April grew by 41.1%YoY to 213,115 units.

So far GM has sold 836,661 vehicles in China.

Shanghai General Motors Corp Ltd, GM Chinese joint venture with Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp sold 324,913 vehicles in the period from January to April selling 89,562 units in April alone.

GM last month said that it expects its annual sales in China to top 2 million units this year, four years ahead of schedule, thanks to strong demand in the world's largest auto market.

GM said sales in China could exceed 3 million units by 2015.

The auto maker will launch at least 25 new or modified models in China by the end of 2011. It also expects to release the first made in India vehicle from its newly established joint venture with SAIC next year.
