The name Rosco Petroavance Ltd may sound new to many.

The company is not.

It has been supplying the energy and construction sectors of Trinidad and Tobago with high-end quality equipment and services for the past 60 years.

Rosco Petroavance, formerly English Drilling Equipment Company Ltd or Edeco (Trinidad) Ltd became Rosco Sales Ltd in 1984 and finally Rosco Petroavance Ltd in 2009, eight years after Walter Bernard and Agostini’s Ltd purchased Rosco Sales Ltd.

Rosco acquired 100 per cent of the shares of Petroavance Trinidad Ltd in 2000, and both companies worked on an amalgamation.

In 2009 they merged, changing the name to Rosco Petroavance Ltd.

Located at 2-4 Rodriguez Ave, San Fernando since 2001, the company which changed ownership and names a number of times has remained constant in its core business of oilfield equipment and supplies distribution.

A veteran in its field, Rosco Petroavance goes to market with six divisions managed by individuals with long experience in their fields, the company’s director and chief executive Wayne Bernard said last week.

The company imports and distributes oil well equipment, rig spares, valves, hydraulic, safety and the service division caters to the needs of several major energy sector companies including Petrotrin, bpTT, British Gas as well as contractor Junior Sammy.

Bernard said the difference between Rosco Petroavance and their competition is that they go to market with customers knowing that they have quality products, unlike some suppliers that go to countries like China that offer inferior equipment.

Rosco Petroavance, Bernard said, also offers repair and support services for the equipment it distributes.

’All of the products are engineered products that require repair services and support and we are able to do this. We are also certified by the manufacturers to do warranty work on the products,’ Bernard said.

He said as part of the Agostini Group, Rosco Petroavance has the capacity to continue to be a major player in the fields where it operates.

’This dedication to quality has brought with it the dedication of our customers and in the past 60 years our customers have been by our side in support, this we are truly great full for and look forward to another 60 years,’ he said.
