Confirmed shipments of 56,200 tons in April were up 7% on year.

The preliminary May data indicate copper cable shipments to the construction industry were 18,500 tons, down 16% from April and down 3% from a year earlier.

The association projected shipments to the automobile sector at 5,300 tons, down 14% from April but up 24% on year.
