10 May : Ezz Steel reduces prices by USD 54 per tonne in May

DJ reported that Al Ezz Steel Rebars Company reduced its May prices by EGP 300 as global steel prices fell.

Mr Ashraf El Ghannam an investor relations official said that "We go with global prices. If prices decrease we reduce our prices. Also local demand slowed down by the end of April."

He said that local demand on steel ebbed in late April after prices jumped by EGP 820 in the same month. Currently, prices have decreased to EGP 3800 per tonne from EGP 4100 per tonne in April.
