Copper and silver futures turned higher on Thursday after a report that an earthquake of magnitude 7.2 on the Richter scale hit Chile, the world's largest copper producer. Last month, a quake of magnitude 8.8 hit the country, leading copper prices to jump nearly 6%. In recent action, copper for April delivery was up 2 cents, or 0.5%, at $3.38 a pound in electronic trade. Silver for the same month rose 12 cents, or 0.7%, to $17.13 an ounce.
