It is reported that Shougang Jingtang Steel Plant No 2 blast furnace ignition ceremony was held in Caofeidian, Tangshan, Hebei province, marking the completion of the major body of the first phase of the steel plant

As per report, the No 2 blast furnace as same as the No 1 have cubage of 5500 cubic meters ranking the first line in the world. It adopts 68 independently innovated and integrated and advanced technologies, breaking monopoly by other foreign companies and can work under more stable, more environmental and more energy saving circumstances.

The major techno-economic indicators of No 1 furnace after one year odd of operation since May 21st 2009 has arrived at the world top class level.

The construction of the No.2 furnace started March 2008.
