Recently, Baosteel Special Steel Business Unit has succeeded in the trial production of certain manganese abrasion resistant steel in the hot rolling alloy sheet and strip line which has filled the domestic emptiness. Since the 8 months of the trial production of the hot rolling alloy sheet and strip line integrated by Baosteel, new products developed independently has been emerging continuously. Up to now high end products of 12 names in 6 categories has been produced. New high end products were born every month.

Baosteel invested in the construction of the hot rolling alloy sheet and strip line in order to develop new special steel premium products and meet the steel requirements of national field of high grade, precision and advanced technology. The line was put into trial production at the end of last June. The menu mode of equipment purchasing which means the equipments are from different countries, regions and enterprises has brought an extreme test for line commission, running-in and new product verification.

Baosteel Special Steel Business Unit has so far succeeded in production of the 6 hot rolling alloy sheet and strip categories of special stainless steel, low magnetic steel, dual phase steel, nickel base alloy steel, pure titanium and abrasion resistant steel in the principle of better and faster, 12 out of the 17 named products are high end products with the thinnest specification to 7mm. Some categories have been put on the market steadily in batch. Till now near 40 customers covering the industries of pressure vessel, electric power and electricity, mechanical manufacturing, petroleum chemistry, etc have started to purchase Baosteel products.
